CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR

Thanksgiving Lutheran Church (T!LC) is seeking a Children’s Ministry Director who is able to implement our vision for life-changing ministry in a Christ-centered children’s program. The person to lead this ministry should be a visionary follower of Jesus who can connect with children, leaders and parents in a way that is engaging and relevant while modeling servant-leadership. The ideal candidate will have a long-term commitment to children’s ministry and God-given competencies for this ministry that have been demonstrated through experience and education. This person will be able to integrate our church’s vision and mission into all aspects of this ministry with guidance from the Youth and Family Coordinator.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Lead all aspects of Elementary-age Children’s Ministry (Sunday morning, Saturday night and mid-week)

·         Coordinate an integrated approach to all aspects of Children’s Ministry

·         Regular coordination with Children’s Ministry team

·         Equip, recruit and train Children’s Ministry team that is Christ-centered with a passion for Children’s faith development

·         Ensure that our curriculum  enhances student’s knowledge and application of the Christian life

·         Work and collaborate with parents

·         On-going creative communication with ministry team, students and parents including web pages and alternative electronic communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Desire for ministry position must be centered around calling to serve Christ

·         Must enjoy working with teams and embrace the idea that we are called to be servant-leaders in all aspects of our ministry roles

·         Faith walk must be reflected in personal integrity in both public and personal life

·         Relationally-focused

·         Well-developed organizational skills

·         Teachable

·         Highly-developed teaching skills

·         Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         3 years part-time ministry experience (paid or volunteer)

·         Rotational Sunday School experience

·         Ability to do themed planning and connect all ministry areas through that theme
