RECAP OF JANUARY 2011 TRIP

Thanksgiving! Lutheran Church is committed to helping the indigent people in the Dominican Republic to develop leaders and assist them in developing micro-enterprise opportunities to learn ways to take care of themselves and their communities. Our church family has been involved in mission work in the D. R. for the past six years. A total of four teams went to Puerto Plata where they had the opportunity to work alongside several long-term missionaries who work in one of the poorest parts of the country. The teams assist in a number of ways, to include providing medical clinics, working on construction projects, assisting with feeding programs, providing sports clinics, and providing emotional and spiritual care to lay-leaders, local pastors, and long-term missionaries.
