History of Our Church
Brief history of Thanksgiving! Lutheran Church.
- Land purchased at the corner of 36th St and NE Highway 370 in Bellevue, NE by the Board of American Missions in 1982.
- Pastor Ron Youngerman begins door-to-door visitations.
- First worship service conducted at Cardinal Spellman School on November 6, 1983.
- Charter completed April 29, 1984 and Pastor Ron Youngerman officially called as the first pastor of Thanksgiving! Lutheran Church.
- Building committee formed and capital campaign started for first building in the spring of 1985.
- Ground breaking ceremony conducted in September 1985.
- First worship service conducted in new facility on June 1, 1986.
- Ground breaking for education wing on May 28, 1988.
- Dedication of Education wing on November 6, 1988.
- Pastor Glenn Harless called as the second pastor of Thanksgiving! Lutheran Church in July 1992.
- Purchased property from SAC Federal Credit Union for future expansion in 1998.
- Ground breaking for family life center on November 5, 2000.
- Family life center dedicated on April 14, 2002.
- Purchased South lot from Dr. Rudersdorf for future expansion in April 2003.
- Purchased South Campus facility from Dr. Rudersdorf in May 2004.
- Retired debt of South lot and South Campus facility in June 2008.
