We are so blessed to have our son Taylor, involved with the nursery ministry at our church. This is not just a babysitting service, but indeed his first glimpse of Jesus in a church atmosphere. He loves playing with the toys, and is fed through prayer, Bible Stories, hugs from Jesus, songs, and a craft that accompanies the Bible story. We are feel so privileged that this ministry is alive and well at our church, and that there are such caring teens and adults that are involved with these kids to show them Jesus' love and teachings. "All three of our children have loved going to the TLC nursery. We were worried about how our children would react when we dropped them off, but after some initial tears, they looked forward each week to spending time with the wonderful Christ-filled staff. We appreciate the routine provided by the staff which includes the Bible lessons, crafts, singing, and of course the great snacks. Thanks to the TLC nursery it is more than just playtime, but an opportunity for our children to grow in their relationship with Jesus."

I have found my work in the T!LC Nursery to be incredibly rewarding. Every week, I see children come through the doors and they make sure that no day is ever like another. Watching the children learn and play and grow right before your eyes is, to say the least, a humbling experience. They are a constant reminder of God’s gifts to us and of His love for us. Their innocence of faith and understanding is almost always sure to illicit smiles and laughter. I have found my own limits tested as I spend 10 minutes trying to calm a crying child, only to have them calm down near instantaneously when I hand them off to a fellow worker. I have found little in life that is as rewarding as finding that one thing a shy or upset child is interested enough in to distract them from their solitude or sorrow. I have been volunteering in the nursery for a little more than 6 months now, and not only do I not regret a minute of it, I look very much forward to the future experiences that God and His children have for me.
