Shalom Ministries is a Bible-centered missionary fellowship based in India.  Led by Pastor Vijay, their vision is to train and send missionaries “where the name of Christ has not yet been heard;” love and care for the poor, the orphaned children, the aged, and the destitute women; and provide medical care to the sick, the suffering and the needy.  T!LC financial support to Shalom Ministries has helped in building an orphanage in India.  Shalom Breads is another ministry tied to T!LC’s outreach with Shalom Ministries.  Shelley Iverson and Kristine Hendrickson make specialty breads which are sold one Sunday per month.  They sell several different kinds of breads, including Honey Wheat, Cinnamon Swirl, Cinnamon and Raisin, Old World Rye, Swedish Rye, 14 Grain, and 10 Grain Bread (so far!), and the breads are made from freshly ground grain.  All the profits from Shalom Breads go directly to Shalom Ministries in India.  Profit from sales, combined with $600 in matching funds from Thrivent Financial, resulted in Shalom Breads contributing $2,038 to Shalom Ministries in 2009.  T!LC’s contact for Shalom Ministries is Pastor David Witkop (402-292-2695, pastordavid@thanks-giving.org).
